AN EXTENSION to Centre for Sustainable Energy’s Warm Homes Fund work in Wiltshire will see the project continue until February 2022.

The Warm Homes Fund is a £150m fund provided by the National Grid and administered by Affordable Warmth Solutions.

It’s purpose is to ‘support local authorities, registered social landlords and other organisations working in partnership with them to address some of the issues affecting fuel poor households.’

The Centre will be using the funding to continue their efforts to support some of Wiltshire and Swindon’s poorest households and the ones most at risk of fuel poverty and falling into fuel debt.

Paul Winney, the project leader, commented on the news: “This further injection of funding is extremely welcome and means we can go further in identifying at-risk households and providing the in-depth help that they need.

“Some of this involves home visits which are an extremely effective way of supporting vulnerable people but is quite resource-intensive.”

The Warm Homes funded work is carried under Warm and Safe Wiltshire – a service a service in which we work with Wiltshire and Swindon councils and Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to deliver a comprehensive energy advice service in the county.
