A SECOND chance to invest in Scottish Communities Finance’s Community Bond Offer has been announced in order to bring community and climate benefits for the people of Linlithgow.

Linlithgow Community Development Trust is currently developing a number of local projects, one of which is the ‘Linlith-Go-Solar’ project.

Linlithgow gets 1299 hours of sunshine per year -higher than the Scottish average.

It is therefore no surprise that it has one of the highest number of solar panel installations per head in Scotland.

Linlith-Go-Solar is seeking to capitalise on that situation by assisting local organisations to secure the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy.

Linlith-Go-Solar is overseen by Linlithgow Community Development Trust in partnership with the local community and a local energy partnership group.

Linlithgow Community Development Trust is working alongside several local sports clubs to put solar panels on the roof of their training facilities.

The Phase one pilot of Linlith-Go-Solar enabled the installation of a SolarPV panel system on the roof of the Linlithgow Rugby Club.

Linlithgow Community Development Trust was established in 2012 to make Linlithgow a better place to live and work, through a community-led plan of action which provides services, amenities and/or financial support to local initiatives.

Phase two extends the pilot to a range of sports clubs,so the benefits are felt across the whole community.

Linlithgow Community Development Trust is being supported by Scottish Communities Finance Ltd, who will issue, administer and assist in promoting the bonds to local people and local businesses.
